OmicronLab
has removed the UniBijoy keyboard layout from their popular Bangla
typing software “Avro” due to a copyright claim from Mustafa Zabbar.
Though the UniBijoy layout is similar to the Bijoy layout, but it wasn’t
the same as it has minimum 8 differences with the Bijoy layout. Yet
OmicronLab removed the UniBijoy keyboard to avoid controversy.
Meanwhile,
some of us are so much acquainted with the UniBijoy layout that Bangla
typing became a little difficult for us. I am one of them and i find it
very cumbersome to get used to with a new layout. So, i was trying a
solution for that.
Luckily, i found out earlier that just copying
the layout file into a specific folder or even double clicking on the
layout file installs the layout. So, i copied the UniBijoy.avrolayout file from the older Avro version 4.5.3 and installed Avro 5.1.0 and installed it and its working fine.
So, to download the UniBijoy Layout for Avro 5.1.0 or earlier, click here. (You need winrar/7zip to extract)
